International Scientific and Technical Conference "ITS - safe roads for the future".

December 1-3, 2016 in Kazan, the Kazan State University of Architecture and Engineering (KSUAE) hosted the International Scientific and Technical Conference "ITS - safe roads for the future", dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the opening of the specialty "Organization and Traffic Safety" at KSUAE.

The conference was organized by the Kazan State University of Architecture and Engineering in active collaboration of the Ministry of Transport and Road Management of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Moscow Automobile and Road Construction State Technical University (MADI).

The conference was attended by scientists and experts of the Republic of Tatarstan and some regions of the Russian Federation, representatives of many scientific and industrial units of the road sector of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The chairman of the organizing committee, rector of the KSUAE, Professor Nizamov R.K. opened the Conference congratulating all the participants and wishing them active and fruitful work. Then the Honorary Professor of the KSUAE Silyanov V.V, the scientific leader of the Problem Laboratory of Organization and Road Safety (PLORS-MADI), Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Honored Worker of Science and Technology of the Russian Federation, formulated the main tasks in the field of organization and road safety in Russia, including the training of specialists of all skill levels for the transport industry.

The conference addressed the problems of improving road safety and suggested solutions of the problems facing the transport industry. The speakers emphasized that today the successful solution of the problems discussed is impossible without the use of modern technologies for managing various types of road transport, as well as road machines and mechanisms involved in the construction, reconstruction, repair and maintenance of roads, without the wide use of transport telematics.

In addition, at the conference, participants discussed current issues such as: ITS and road infrastructure, automated photo-video recording of traffic violations, RFID and integrated system for automatic recording of violations and ticket payment, providing ITS directions.
